Accomplishments of LVJUSD during my term:
- Second year as ROP Chairperson and third year on ROP board
- Second year as board clerk
- Member of Health and Wellness Committee
- Algebra Task Force Established, and implementing Mathematics Teaching & Learning Plan
- All four high schools received full 6-year WASC accreditation
- Developed and implemented HS Summer Bridge Academy for rising 9th grade students
- Awarded $1.5 million Department of Labor YouthBuild Grant for YouthBuild Project HOPE
- Migrant Education Program State competition awards
- Livermore Lab Foundation Summer Internship Program initiated and continuing
- CMS awarded Schools to Watch
- Altamont Creek National Green Ribbon School
- African American Scholars Program wins Golden Bell Award
- LHS Musicians invited to perform in Carnegie Hall (Highest Awards State Competition in SoCal)
- Students perform multiple times at Oakland A’s games - Star Spangled Banner
- Hosted and sponsored specialized academic events: Family Math and Counting Nights, Book Fairs, Science Odyssey, Spelling Bees, MathCounts, Pathways to a Bright Future
- No audit findings (General Fund $187 million, Bond $245 million)
- Received Positive Budget Certification every year
- Positive validation reports from Measure J Independent Oversight Committee
- Positive validation reports from Parcel Tax Independent Oversight Committee
- Passed Measure A $28 million ($4 million for 7 years), to support STEM
- Multiple sites received CA Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) Awards
- LVJUSD awarded over $1 million in 3 federal grants for mental health, including Teen Mental Health First Aid, training hundreds of students, staff and community members
- Choose Love adopted and implemented district-wide
- LVJUSD awarded $510,000 Attorney General competitive grant for anti-vaping measures, SRO sergeant
- Wellness Centers established
- Parent Club Information Council (PCIC) meets monthly (in-person or Zoom), participation increased
- Livermore Learns program expanded with virtual sessions on variety of relevant topics
- Board attends Back to School Nights, Open Houses, graduation ceremonies, promotion events, Expo, Future Farmers of America, Ag Day, musical and theatrical performances, athletic and sporting events, academic competitions (History Day, Spelling Bee, Science Odyssey, etc.)
